November Releases I’m Running to the Bookstore For (Part 1)

I always find myself writing this sentence:

“It’s been a minute.”

And that’s because I still haven’t managed to get a grasp on keeping a blogging schedule. Like with making a monthly TBR, I almost hardly ever stick to it. I’m a mood reader. Someone who starts a book and then puts it down–not because it’s bad–but because I’m just not in the mood for it. I do that with writing, with laundry, with my theme on #bookstagram.

So, really, I’m good at starting things. Not necessarily good at carrying them out, though. But, I’m working on it. Also, I have a feeling what my 2019 resolution will be.

That’s not why we’re here. Let’s talk about November releases! Unsurprisingly, there aren’t as many as October, but there are some I’m keeping my eye on.

And, because it’s me, all of my recommendations are out! So that means you’ll be able to run to your nearest bookstore and scoop ’em up if you feel so inclined! Yay for not having to wait!

Let’s get to it with my top 3 releases of last week:

3. This is a book I’ve been waiting for for a while. The part of me that ADORES contemporary novels couldn’t wait to get my hands on it, because I mean LOOK AT THAT COVER. Also, note: girls in a band, a music competition, diversity, lots of tough topics, and a crumbling friendship. What more can you ask for? Besides the actual book, of course. Check here for the full summary.

2. This one is through the Jimmy Patterson YA imprint, and honestly, they’ve done some absolutely AMAZING work with this novel. Like, for instance, they put a PRINTED trigger warning for sexual assault and violence right at the beginning of the book. My sensitive heart sang seeing that. And this is the debut everyone is talking about. Or hopefully will be soon. If you like YA fantasies about strong, brave girls featuring a f/f relationship and an Asian setting, then this might be the book for you. Check out the summary!

  1. OKAY SO I DON’T KNOW HOW I MISSED THIS RELEASE BECAUSE I’VE BEEN SERIOUSLY SO EXCITED FOR IT. YA fantasy with a competition to find the next empress. The contestants have to survive the palace’s ENCHANTED SEASONAL ROOMS. And the main character has a secret that could destroy her life–and her chances at being the next empress. There’s a prince who wants nothing to do with his throne inheritance. They tangle. I’VE BEEN SIGNED UP FOR SO LONG HOW DO I NOT HAVE THIS BOOK NOW?

Those are just three amazing releases out this month. Check back soon, because I promise I’m going to be better about posting and reviews. Because I have a lot of feelings about some books I’ve recently read.

But I’m signing off now so I can go buy Empress of All Seasons because I’m so sad I missed its release. What novels are you excited for this month? Let me know!

Safe travels and happy reading!
